Late 90s and Indigo Blaze team up on new track ‘Unbound’

Two mighty forces out of Australia’s West Coast have teamed up to deliver a great dose of music, showcasing their individual talents as well as a killer collaborative dynamic; Late 90s and Indigo Blaze fusing together on the furious single, ‘Unbound’.

For Late 90s, ‘Unbound’ marks the Perth band’s first release since 2023’s successful single ‘respawn.’, while for Indigo Blaze, the track marks their first outing since their as-dynamic tune, ‘We Don’t Miss’. For both groups, teaming up on ‘Unbound’ proved a natural arrival of shared ideas, influences and intuition.

Bringing their different sonic identities together on this track has bred a fun and chaotic blend of aggression and alt-rock rhythm, capped off with each musician going toe to toe with one another to match the kinetic chemistry in the room.

Recorded at Hopping Mouse Studios with Matthew Templeman (Voyager, Birds of Tokyo), ‘Unbound’ was mastered by Simon Struthers (Karnivool, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets); making the final result a killer West Coast production from the ground up.

"I have always fantasised about mixing two bands styles of music and creating a track that seamlessly sounds no more than the other. Late 90s’ moody, dark alt-rock seemed perfect to be the yin to the blazes aggressive rock/hip hop yang."

"Both bands had to get together in a large room and work out how to actually perform the track so we thought why the hell not get one of our mates in to shoot the rehearsal in real time?"
