Boorloo / Perth indie pop artist Hannah Stow has just released her first new music for 2025 in the stunning ‘LET ME KNOW’. Pensive, poignant, and packed with some phenomenally vulnerable songwriting, the new single came to life following the cancer diagnosis of a beloved friend’s mother.
Exploring this specific tragedy as well as the more general themes of loss and heartbreak, Hannah’s new single is an ode to her ability to craft graceful, thoughtful and heartwrenching songs which never fail to capture their listener’s attention and emotions.
“A friend of mine told me that when she found out her Mum had cancer, she and her sisters were silent in the car on the way home and then they all cried in the kitchen together. I found that concept powerful – to collectively be holding it together until you hit your four walls and it all comes crashing down.
Life has a funny way of forcing you to remember exactly where you were when you found out something terrible. You remember the clothes you were wearing, the location you were in and the exact words that gave you a sinking feeling in your stomach. Cancer doesn’t spare many people and it was important for me to write a song about how that feels but to also empower those going through it ‘lace your boots up, wipe your tears and jump in the ring’.” HANNAH STOW
Recorded in Perth with production by Calvin Bennett (Mariae Cassandra, YURA, Keanu), the track was then mastered in Brisbane by the expert hand of Blake Malone (Amy Shark, Tia Gostelow, Peach Fur). Reflecting on the process of shaping ‘LET ME KNOW’ into its final form.
