With a milestone year in 2023 under their belts, West Australia’s Ghost Care have returned with their second single for 2024, titled ‘Don’t I Know U’. Following on from the success of their 2024 kickstarter ‘Canadian Dream’, the indie-rock trio have continued to push forward as one of Australia’s most promising & evocative independent artists.
Teaming up again with their trusted collaboratives Dave Parkin of Blackbird Studios (Spacey Jane, Sly Withers) for mixing and production, as well as Joe Carra’s (The Teskey Brothers, Courtney Barnett) touch for mastering, the band have continued the evolution of their sound - no two singles sounding the same, yet distinctly adhering to the ‘Ghost Care’ sound.
‘Don’t I Know U’ is born from a moment of profoundness for singer Beau Torrance. Relating back to moments of depression & despondency, he worked to capture the feeling of nearing the end of a dark tunnel - when you know that things are going to be ok.
"This song captures a profound moment for me – the first time in a long time that I looked in the mirror and genuinely liked the person staring back at me. I think we can nearly all relate to moments of depression and how it can feel like you are trapped and there is no way out. With this track, I aimed to capture the feeling of nearing the end of a dark tunnel. That moment when you finally sense that maybe, just maybe, things are going to be okay. This song helped me and I hope it can help others. The riff that kicks off the song, in particular, brought me so much joy and energy during the writing process."

Alongside the release of their second single for 2024, the band have announced their debut run of headline East Coast shows for the year - their first outside of Western Australia in this time period as well. Starting in Melbourne at the iconic Workers Club, they head up to Brisbane & then Sydney across the same weekend. The tour culminates in a headline performance at revered Mojos in their hometown of Fremantle.
“We are so excited to be going back on tour! Touring is honestly what we’d love to do all of the time, so whenever we get the opportunity it’s an anxious countdown to the departure day. We can’t wait to make new friends and see all our fans."
Tanya Harper, Ghost Care
What began as a project between Torrance and drummer Luke Del Fante to create together, with a series of guest collaborators, quickly became a solidified unit once Tanaya Harper came into the fold. Ghost Care was born when they all realized the chemistry between each other was undeniable and has since led to a bright and incredible body of work that continues to diversify with each release.
Cutting their teeth supporting bands like The VANNS, Pacific Avenue, Spacey Jane, Ball Park Music and more, the group kicked things up another notch in 2023. Nominated for 5 WAM Awards in 2023 and completing their debut national headline tour in the same month, Ghost Care have been able to show audiences nationwide what the West Coast has already known – their spirit and musicality is inescapable.
